MASM can be replaced by other linker for 16 bit code. E.g., you can try WINDDK 3790.1830. The linker is usually under:

C:\WINDDK\3790.1830\bin\bin16

You can update the new tool path in Edk\Sample\CommonTools.env:

ASM16             = YourMlPath\ml

ASMLINK16         = YoourLinkPath\link

ASMLINK           = YoourLinkPath\link

Thanks,

Hot

I had a lot of issues trying to get DUET (and others) to build on my 64-Bit XP (Server 2003 based) box. Never could get it to work, so I moved it all to a 32-XP2 box and all is well.

Hi,

It seems the MASM611 can not work well on 64bit Vista OS.

But the tool is required by some files like Edk\Sample\Platform\DUET\Loader\BootSector\BootSect.asm.

Any help will be appreciated!

Best regards,

Ming
